Ok, I know that not sleeping makes your metabolism faster plus it doesn’t slow down for 8 hours as it usually would, and you are more active. I know that in sleep-deprivation experiments, the participants lost significant amounts of weight.
People also say not sleeping causes weight gain but that is only because it increases your appetite.
So if I don’t eat more than usual, and don’t sleep (just for this one night) will I lose weight? How much?.
If you're still in need of sleep, I recommend the Natural Sleep Made Simple guide. This book contains natural, totally safe, and PROVEN methods that will let you get to sleep every night with ease. Money back guarantee.

No. You will be more likely to overeat and you will have less energy and so be less active the following day. Sleep is necessary, esp if you are exercising, to restore your body.
You have to ask yourself “Would the weight loss (most likely insignificant because of one night test) be enough of a incentive to over come any problems the lost sleep may cause?”
Also, if you stay up and become bored, what would stop you from getting up and raiding the fridge?
If you do try it, make sure you don’t have plans for the next day! Good luck if you try.
you can die from not sleeping. And it won’t help you loose weight. If fact, you’ll probably gain weight because as soon as you start eating again your body will think you’ve been starving so what you eat will go straight to fat. This is because your body thinks it needs storage fat in case you start starving again.
Yes just for this one night, anout .5lbs or 1lb…?? Something like that, I’ve done it before at a sleep over- but only because we wanted to stay up all night-lool- but we didn’t eat dinner cus her family aren’t really big dinner-eaters… We slowly snacked on frostine through the night. Had a half teaspoon full we sort of nibbled at while we talked. So maybe a tablespoon by the night’s end…? It has to do with depoisitory sugars and fat..
But you shouldn’t do it all the time…
Not sleeping is unhealthy, and though in a short time you will lose glucose, most of the weight that you lose is muscle as you are using extra energy to stay awake beyond your natural abilities. In the long run it will screw up your metabolism, and this will be a great challenge to reverse.
Well if you don’t sleep that does not cause you to loose weight that is causing lack of sleep, you will not get enough energy.. but its a possibilty u can loose weight by not eating as much as u usaually do but don’t just think thatif you don’t sleep u will loose weight.. If u want to loose weight jus do sum exercise.. Dats all!!
noo actually. if u stay up late ur body craves food cause even though you are burning calories , in the morning you will be craving more food and be sleeping more because of the lack of sleep lost. sleep helps so you will be active in the morning
Technically you will. Will it be noticeable? No. You’d probably lose around three pounds, but your body already fluctuates around 3 pounds depending on the time of day and what you eat, etc.
Yeah, but it sure as hell won’t be fat. You’ll degenerate.
You want to lose weight? Do it the hard way, like everyone else. If you’re not up to it, you aren’t up to it. We’re not judging you.
no because if you go without alot of sleep then your body will go into a stress mode and hold on the all of the fat you have and gain. You will just gain more and it will be harder to burn it off.
Yeah, sure. If you screw you sleep schedule all out of whack, you immunities will be sacrificed, you’ll get sick a lot more and you’ll loose weight that way.
How about the old fashion hard way, exercise?
i think you will get sick by doing that. i have always been told it will make you gain weight.
Yep. You’ll also suffer from hair loss and other ailments due to the stress you put yourself through.
midnight snacking kills.
