I have a very important job tonight and really need my rest, but I didn’t sleep despite the medications I took. I was very stressed and nervous all night

There’s one of two likelihoods… but maybe both.
First and foremost, if you weren’t tired at all, you took too much Melatonin. It sounds weird, but Melatonin helps support Serotonin, which is the hormone that controls both sleeping AND waking cycles. Basically, when your body gets tired, it’s because you get a little boost of Serotonin… when it’s time to wake up, your body gives you a bigger boost of Serotonin. That’s why when people treat Melatonin like a sleeping pill and take more of it, it wakes them up and some people say it doesn’t work because of that.
The other possibility is that you were nervous and stressing about the new job and that just made it harder to sleep. You’ll probably get tired by late this morning or early afternoon, so you could take a nap if you needed to so you’re not so tired. Everything will be fine so there’s no need to worry about it. Good luck with the new job and I hope I helped!
your thinking too much, thats why you couldn’t sleep. that happened to me monday, i started a course this week and i was nervous and kept thinking about it and thinking about how i wasn’t sleeping. you just need to relax and don’t think about whatever is making you nervous and don’t think about sleeping. try reading a book before bed, or going for a jog.
You’re too anxious, relax, and let go of any feelings about the upcoming job… one thing I find is worrying about an alarm clock going off, so set two or three around the room, and that’s one less worry… also lay out your uniform or clothes and then even if you oversleep a little, you’re not going to be drastrically late… all these little things tend to play on your mind…
Your question sounds more serious. I suggest that you should consult to expert for health advice. A service platform which may help to solve your problems is recommended to you. You can have a look at it at http://www.tcm discovery.com/public health/
Taking a sublingual melatonin. Taking valerian root capsules may help about two hours before bedtime. Take only one sublingual.
Avoid nyquil. Take cherry bark for colds or echineahea herb.
when i take melatonin it keeps me up at night. you took waaaaaaaay too much.
