Hello, I have been sleeping just fine until now. Recently, I have been having some trouble sleeping, I think last night it took me three hours to seep and it was already the morning. I felt alright through out the day but when I try to go to seep I can’t. It takes me forever. I forgot to mention that I live in a college dorm and my mates are pretty noisy and my roommate as well. He plays games really late in the night and It is difficult to sleep. On top of that they are always yelling. Unfortunately there is not much I can do there because I have warned the resident advisers and they said the cannot do much either. What my roommates are doing is not against the policy, but I can no longer sleep. I was thinking of going on some sleep medications but I am curious as to what you think about as to what I should do. All their noise has been keeping me up and I am looking for a way to fall asleep faster or easier. As I said, it is really difficult. I may add details if you guy think this question is unclear. I thank you so much in attempting to answer this question.

Please do not begin taking sleep medications just because your roommates are inconsiderate. Although it may seem like a hassle, I strongly suggest that you apply for a room change. Most colleges are very accommodating when students are having a hard time living with roommates. And your roommates will understand. Believe me, you all will be happier.
In the meantime, foam ear plugs and a face mask work wonders.
I have know idea what you should do about the roommates bcause im an 8th grader..but i am going to bed at 8:30 and have beeen doing so for about 2 months now and it really releves my back pains and sleep issuses. i have pleasent dreams now and its easer to find myself sleep fast. Hope that helps.
God Bless
Hey, hope this helps!
Im Only 13 but I have the same problem except with my sister being loud. I listen to my iPod or use ear plugs.
If it does not work then I say move Dorms or put up w/it.
Good luck!
Sleep medications are made for physical causes of sleep disorder, not necessarily your environment. It would be better for your health to avoid these unless absolutely necessary.
As a college student who was in the same situation last year, I have found great success in finding relaxing sounds like ocean waves or rain storms and putting them on my ipod, then putting my earbuds in my ear and cranking the volume up until I can hardly hear my roommates. This allows me to fall asleep very fast because of the steady relaxing sounds.
