well i went threw this. my daughter was ill at 8 weeks she got in to a good routine of 4-5hrs of a night about 4-5oz n 4-5oz every 4 hours of a day. she had tummy bug n was waking evry 2 hrs of night n only having 3oz. i sat uo 1 night n waited 2 hrs untill it was like 4hr feed n she was upset n so was i n tired but i persevered n afta a couple of nights she was sleeping right through.
do u keep it loud of a day quiet at night?
my daughter likes the bath hates getting dry so i try not to bath her every night.
but no matter what time she has tea i take her to bed at 7.30pm. she may only of had tea at 5.30pm but even if she only has 3oz thats it its bed. usually she will have 5oz n go sleep 2hrs after tea time.
i make it loud of a day n make her have at least 2x 1hr naps of a day. sleep of a day helps them sleep at night.
maybe get a lullaby 4 bed it may be 2 quiet my daughter started like that but now shed sleep in a ditch.
try looking at cow n gate website 4 useful tips or even tesco baby n toddler group they had a good article for 3-6month routines,
best of luck xx

My little granddaughter is just over 13 weeks old. Her Mum had awful problems breastfeeding at the start, apparently getting into a satisfactory routine can take weeks. My daughter seems to coping OK now, but she still worries about it, although baby is thriving solely on breast milk. She read somewhere that most babies have a teasy time at 6 and 7 weeks. Our baba certainly did.
I know it's not much consolation to a tired and stressed new Mum, but babies go through stages. In a couple of weeks, he will have moved on, and you will be worrying about something else. Remember with babies, nothing lasts forever. I take it you are a first-time Mum? Do you have any friends or relatives who could watch baby while you grab some sleep, even if it is only for a couple of hours? As you are using some formula, they could give him a couple of ounces feed if he did play up. We babysat for our daughter, and it helped her through a difficult time, although she wasn't using formula, she could have about 3 hours sleep, even if it was mid afternoon. If all else fails, contact Health Visitor to see if she has any ideas. That's what they are there for.
